Hérault Arnod Architectures //

Hérault Arnod architectures is a Parisian architectural firm founded in the early 1990’s in Grenoble by Yves Arnod and Isabel Hérault. The team is composed of fifteen architects with different profiles and from different nationalities who share a demanding and prospective vision of architecture.

The studio develops diverse programs, from micro to macro, from small architectural objects to territorial scale projects. The clients are both public and private. The studio escapes from the idea of programmatic specialization and designs projects for working spaces, concert and theater halls, sport and cultural facilities, housing, mixed-use buildings, etc.

Each time, the will to escape ready-made solutions or transposition of recipes implies a research process to offer pertinent and original solutions that draw their substance from the specificity of the milieu where the project is implanted. The architecture seeks to reveal existing forces, energies, to find each time the right solution to a given situation. This method, starting from the milieu, produces very diverse buildings ; the recurrence comes from the process rather than from the formal result.

In the field of technical aspects as well as that of new ways of inhabiting, research and innovation is a major part of the office’s activity. The aim, amongst others, is to invent architectural gestures to answer social and urban contemporary issues such as urban densification, mixed and complex programs, organizing coexistence, improving everyday living conditions, and our relationship with nature and the elements.

Technically, the office brings together architects aiming for optimal mastering of the construction process. Every single detail is drawn and developed during the design phases, then controlled on-site to ensure fine quality finish so that the built structure remains true to the designed project. The objective, working with our partner engineering offices, is to optimize the buildings for more energy sobriety. Our work is beginning to integrate a “low-carbon” process.

ARCHiTYPE | ARHITIP-PROIECT //

The studio positions itself as a developer of an idea (a concept, an image, etc.). This line of activity is reflected at the studio name, too.

Author group: Diana Morari-Corotchi / Director. Architect. Designer  &  Denis Corotchi / Lead designer

Activity: Architectural design | Interior design | Conceptual design: furniture, installations, product and graphic design.

Architectural goal: creative search for the most expressive ways to solve a design problem.

Lines of activity: Area: External and internal space.  Style: Modern international style and functionalism.

Guiding principles: Generation of a harmonious relationship between man and environment, compliance with the concept of  'form follows function' and development of appropriate solutions combining not only aesthetic, but also technical, social and cultural functions are the basic principles that ArchitypeGroup adheres to in design process.

Algorithm of project development. Organization of design process: A flexible structure of the studio is aimed at creating project teams for work on each object enabling distribution of the most professional resources in their fields in order to create a high-quality product (a design solution). Modern architecture is a complex technological process involving specialists from various fields. An effective design process organization, as well as a comprehensive and integrated approach allow to achieve the maximal result and optimal deadlines.

Style features: We have developed a unified algorithm combining several lines such as modern international style / contemporary, adaptive architecture / parametric, functionalism.A combination is everything. This is how a contrast, an image appears. Personality. Nature of a project. We look for an approach that allows us to achieve new results in case of each project task.

We adhere to progressive trends in architecture. We are interested in adaptive architecture partially perceived as 'architecture of the future'. The factor of novelty is of great importance for us, it is natural for us. This interest in 'new images' has a fruitful effect on the development of experimental architectural concepts.

We like to connect laconic volumes and to animate them with smooth lines and curves by means of dynamic principles of shaping. Our projects make room for flexible planning solutions and transformable facade systems. They are also based on concepts of penetration of an external environment into a structure of a building and relationship with an environment. Constructive transformation techniques support an interconnection of interiors with an environment and a landscape.

Always our intention is to change volumetric-spatial characteristics of an architectural environment, to create a qualitatively new perception of space and, at the same time, to develop projects that are not only interesting, but also are intelligent paying attention to choice of building technologies and materials.

SPACES ARCHITECTS@ka // Spaces Architects@ka, an international award winning architectural firm, established with a vission of creating sensible, functional spaces enhanced by the intangible sense of emotion, of power, of playfulness. This results in architecture that can be extraordinary responding to your unique needs throughout the design process, is just as much an architect’s mission as shaping aesthetically inspired built environment through communication. Our work is known for its design quality, imagination and originality. Each project offers an opportunity to pursue new solutions to complex building problems. Our motto is to design, detail and enjoy working in responsive to our client’s need in very honest, efficient and professional manner. We believe that our works follow a unique style based on our ideology and perspective towards the design requirement. The word ‘SPACES’ is a very integral part of our being, we move through spaces, we identify with it, our senses response to spaces, we feel it. We work to develop that space for our clients where they emotionally get attached to it; it is not an empty sterile container but a sensual dynamic environment. Our spaces are not formulaic but are derived on the basic requirement of client and site. We feel each house, building or space has got its individual identity, like human no two buildings can be same we as an architect have to give it an identity and soul so they can breathe and communicate. We believe a building is a living object which can communicate; it is just that feeling that has to reciprocate in a very sensitive approach towards our work. Whatever work executed by us one can find that soul or we have at least attempted to and keep on doing that. The firm in past years has executed more than 100 projects ranging from furniture to corporate buildings with numerous publications.

ZAV Architects //

An Incomplete Plan of Attack on Earth acts as a guiding plan for the architectural practice of ZAV, and the design of the office is in accordance with the different sections of this manifesto, based on which different spaces are located and interconnected.

The Crafts Laboratory, a workshop dedicated to material and building experimentation, is directly connected to open space and has independent access. It follows an industrial aesthetics, unlike other spaces that are sharply colored based on their function and are linked to other closed spaces through a central white common space that is, in a sense, the continuation of the city inside the building.

Think tank spaces are colored blue, studio spaces yellow, and service spaces crimson. Colors are selected based on their effect on the function of spaces.

The building hosting ZAV, formerly in decay, was restored with minimum intervention to portray the mission of architecture that is “change and innovation”. A frequently asked question is related to the choice of white as the façade color. The previous users had painted the bricks of the building façade red, a random choice based on a sense or taste. Today the white color of the façade is an extension of the interior common spaces, also white, which represents a new air and healthful change.

The juxtaposition of the sharp uniformly colored interior spaces and the roughly colored and textured workshop, directly results from the work mechanisms of the office and this aesthetics develops from a certain process.
