FarmBox is a modular, mobile, and scalable urban farming solution designed to address the growing need for sustainable food systems in dense urban environments. Developed from recycled shipping containers, each FarmBox integrates hydroponic or aquaponic systems, solar panels, and a smart air treatment unit (CTA), allowing it to operate autonomously with high energy efficiency and minimal environmental impact.

This system is designed to be placed in underused urban areas—such as rooftops, parking lots, or abandoned plots—bringing food production closer to the consumer and reducing the carbon footprint linked to transportation. It promotes short supply chains and helps reestablish the relationship between urban dwellers and food sources.

FarmBox also serves as a platform for education, community engagement, and research in urban agriculture. It can be used in schools to teach students about food systems, or by local associations and underserved communities as a tool for empowerment, food sovereignty, and social innovation. It creates new job opportunities, especially in areas lacking access to fresh produce.

The exterior of the container is redesigned to harmonize with its environment, featuring natural materials such as wood panels or vertical greenery, making it a visually appealing and context-sensitive object that can blend into any urban fabric.

FarmBox is part of a larger vision called - TerraViva - , which includes vertical farming towers, rooftop gardens, and mobile farming units. More than just a product, FarmBox represents a new paradigm for resilient, inclusive, and ecologically responsible cities of tomorrow.
