When a large family with a deep love for the sea and water sports buys a vacation apartment on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, the result must radiate freedom, serenity, and effortless elegance.
Shlomit Zeldman, who previously designed their permanent home, was given a rare opportunity to translate their personal style into a completely different space - one that feels a bit like home and a bit like a luxurious hotel.
“The goal was to create a space that feels like a vacation but without compromising on functionality and a sense of home,” says Zeldman.
The result: a sense of privacy in every area, along with an open and airy public space that faces the breathtaking view of the Sea of Galilee.
The color palette was built around soft sand tones, cream, mocha, natural wood, and precise touches of black and white.
“The aim was to create a very calm monochromatic look—one that doesn’t compete with the view but enhances it,” explains Zeldman.
The floor was covered in uniform resin, giving a sense of flow, and the material language was maintained throughout the apartment—including extensive use of wood in carpentry, bathrooms, and subtle wall coverings that add depth without overwhelming.
Even though this is a vacation apartment, no compromises were made in the kitchen: two ovens, an integrated wine fridge, and an elegant bar are all seamlessly integrated with soft beige-toned cabinetry.
The selected surface—natural granite—looks as if soft sand was scattered over it, with veins in shades of brown, cream, and white, adding a rich and unexpected texture.
One of the most beautiful achievements of the project is the combination of relaxed luxury and family intimacy.
For example, one of the suites includes a crib for the family’s new grandchild, and the parents’ suite includes an open bathroom facing directly toward the Sea of Galilee, with travertine-style wall cladding and a zero-line door that conceals the toilet and wardrobe—creating a clean and harmonious design connection.
At the center of the home is a spacious living room with leather armchairs, straw rugs, and glass coffee tables resting on natural wood blocks—all chosen to preserve the free-spirited feel of the place.
The television was placed on a side column to avoid blocking the view, and the outdoor balcony serves as the main dining area—exactly as the family requested: to sit outside, by the water, with a pleasant breeze.
“This is a very precise project, very clean, with materials that soothe the eye and the heart,” concludes Zeldman.
“There’s no unnecessary noise here, but there's a strong presence. Everything is thought out—from the monochromatic line of the floor to the exact placement of a light fixture. In the end, when you stand in front of the Sea of Galilee with a glass of wine, you feel like this is your place. This is the vacation that became home.”

The apartment covers an area of approximately 250 sq m (about 2,690 sq ft) and an additional balcony of 60 sq m (about 645 sq ft)
Each bedroom functions as a suite with an en-suite bathroom, just like in a hotel
