1. What is the deadline?

The deadline is at 23:59 GMT on Friday, 18 July. 

2. Who can apply to WA Awards 10+5+X?

Architects, Architecture Offices, Interior Designers, Interior Design Offices, Architecture and Interior Design Students are eligible to apply to WA Awards 10+5+X.

3. Do I need to create an account to submit an entry?

Yes, you need to create an account on this page using your first and last name. When signing up, please select the status that best represents you (such as Architect, Interior Designer, or Student). If you would like to submit your project under your Office name, you must upgrade your account to Professional Membership, which requires an annual fee (see the WAC Membership Benefits for more details). Once your upgrade is complete, you can submit your work under your office name.

Students must validate their accounts as Academic Members by using their university-provided email addresses in their WAC settings before submitting their projects.

4. Can I submit my entry in a different language?

No, all project uploads, account descriptions, and submissions must be in English. If the WAC editorial team detects any project submitted in a different language, the project will be disqualified from the competition, and there will be no refund.

5. What are the categories in the WA Awards 10+5+X?

Projects can be submitted under two main sections in the WA Awards: Architecture and Interior Design. In the Architecture category, you can submit under Designed, Realised, and Student categories. For Interior Design, submissions are accepted in the Realised and Student categories. Please visit the designated page for detailed information about the categories.

6. What materials do I need to submit during the upload process?

After signing in and navigating to the My Projects page, click on "Upload Project." You will see a one-page upload form that you need to complete for each project. The form requires the following information: project name, project section, project type, designed-completed year, and a project description, which must be a minimum of 1500 characters. Additional sections include project facts (technical data), project team, country, city, project category, and project images, which should be in jpg, jpeg, or png formats.

7. Is there a limit on the number of visuals I can upload?

Yes, there is a limit. Basic Members may upload up to 10 images, while Professional, Business and Academic Members can upload up to 20 images per project. For built projects, only photographs are allowed. For conceptual projects, only renderings should be uploaded.

8. Can I upload drawings?

Yes, you can upload images that include drawings, illustrations, and similar materials.

9. What should I do if I'm having trouble uploading my visuals?

First, check the image size and specifications for the WA Awards. Make sure to review all the required image sizes and specifications listed in the upload form under the "Project Images" section. For further guidance, refer to our visual guidelines on the How To Participate (Point 7) page.

10. What are the submission fees for the various categories in the WA Awards 10+5+X?

The WA Awards adopts an affordable pricing policy for entry fees to encourage participation from architecture and interior design firms of all sizes. The participation fees for WA Awards 10+5+X are as follows: - Designed category: $130 - Realised category: $240 - Students: Free. 11. How will I pay for my entry?

World Architecture Community accepts secure credit card payments (Visa, MasterCard, AliPay) during the final submission step. For bank transfers, payments must arrive before processing your entry, which may cause delays. Any bank charges for international transfers are the participants’ responsibility. 12. When will the voting process for the WA Awards be announced? 

The Voting stage for each cycle will be opened for voting one week after the submission deadline ends.

13. Who are the jurors for the WA Awards?

The WA Awards feature two judging groups. The first group includes WAC's Honorary Members, a select ensemble of architects, critics, academics, magazine editors, and earlier WA Awards Winners, who selects the first 10 winners. Notable members include Nikos Fintikakis, Budi Sukada, Ruth Jacobson, Giancarlo Alhadeff, and Sanjay Puri. The second group consists of Members of the World Architecture Community, including architects, interior designers, students, and academics, who select the second 5 winners.

14. What is the prize for the WA Awards?

Winners of the WA Awards will receive a digital special WA Award Winner Poster and a digital WA Award Certificate. These will be made available to the participants a few weeks after the announcement of the winners.

15. Will I have to pay for my Winner Poster and Winner Certificate after I win?

No, you will not have to pay for your Winner Poster or Winner Certificate after you win. You only need to cover the entry fee for each category you participate in for the WA Awards. There are no additional costs for the Winner Poster and Winner Certificate.
