Sébastien Verniers received his degree in architecture from the Victor Horta Institute of Architecture in Brussels, Belgium in 2006 and since then started his practice in Costa Rica where he has now more than 10 years of experience.
His architectural inspiration has its source from his travels around the world in countries such as Japan, Australia, India, Morocco, Egypt, Western Europe and Central American countries. He defines himself as an “ecological functionalist” which basically means that his architecture should always be rooted in the cultural and regional soil where it is conceived and should further strives to meet the most fundamental human needs with an economy of expression. At the same time, he borrows from various traditional methods to create his own contemporary and vernacular design, creating an efficient architecture that harmoniously blends itself with Costa Rica’s exceptional landscapes and natural environment.
Sebastien Verniers's vision is to bring a personalized accompaniment and tailored approach to each project from the beginning to the end delivery, looking for a relation with the client based on trust, enthusiasm and mutual understanding.
