Hermenegildo C. Mercado is a registered and licensed architect in the Philippines with an innate talent for drawing, creative design and a world-class experience to match. He was educated in the University of the Philippines, earning his degree in B.S. Architecture in 1981. Since elementary grade, he was consistently in the Honor Roll and graduated as a Salutatorian. He also graduated as a Salutatorian in High School. In college, he was an entrance scholar in the University of the Philippines, a college scholar, an Architectural Center Club Inc. scholar, always excelling in his design subjects and awarded the Best Thesis with his two group mates.
After working in the National Housing Authority as an Architect / Planner for five years, he went to work in Saudi Arabia and Singapore as an Architect to gain world-class experience. As an Architect, he worked with Saudi Binladin Group (SBG; Arabic: مجموعة بن لادن السعودية Maǧmūʿat Bin Lādin al-Saʿūdiyyah), known as Binladin Group Global Holding Company since 2019, a multinational construction conglomerate headquartered in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The conglomerate comprises an estimated 537 companies. That time he worked with British and American architects in SBG doing the best, the biggest and most prestigious projects in Saudi Arabia and various landmark government projects like the Al-Diwan Complex in Mena, The King Fahd Military Hospital ( the first smart hospital in KSA) , Saudi Binladen Corporate Office, Al Thowal Beach Palace, and numerous mosques and villas for the Royal Family. In Singapore he worked in Design International as a design consultant for the Shelford Condominium.
After gaining a global value engineering and design experience using cutting-edge CAD software for design and presentation, he returned to the Philippines to offer world-class design consultancy services ranging from townships, condominiums, government buildings, smart hospitals, floating solar energy power plants, mass housing, luxury housing, sustainable buildings, luxury resort hotels, malls, marina, odorless biogas waste recycling facilities. He is an expert in tensile fabric structures and the design consultant for the distributor of Serge Ferrari tensile fabrics in the Philippines.
His designs are AI-driven, creative, and better than conventional design in terms of form, function and with value engineering experience incorporated into design that translates into a stronger structure with significant cost savings and a much shorter construction time that stand out from the rest.
His designs are green, self-sustaining, modern and innovative as can be seen in various projects he designed. His design portfolio includes townships, eco-friendly hospitals, sports/ convention centers, institutional/government buildings, transport terminals, trade centers, mixed-use development projects, malls with condominiums, casinos, markets, schools, parks, commercial buildings, schools, luxury/ mass-housing projects, health care buildings and tensile fabric structures.
