Since its establishment in 2016 by Mohamad Rahimizadeh, Kalbod Design Studio has been redefining the architectural landscape. With a unique approach that blends traditional and modern elements, the studio has successfully executed a diverse range of projects, from villas to residential complexes, and medical, educational, and cultural buildings. These projects span from low-rise affordable homes to grand skyscrapers and artificial islands, showcasing the studio's versatility and innovation.
All of these various projects have Kalbod’s ultimate goal hidden within them, this concept and motto is improving user experience by creating a sense of belonging in every building Kalbod Design Studio creates. Achieving this goal is only possible through research and acknowledging the natural environment and cultural conditions of each site. The winning element in Kalbod’s projects, from small to grand, is the consideration and integration of the valuable traditions of each culture’s architecture with the modern methods and technologies that will answer to the needs of the users and create a long-lasting architectural landmark that improves the quality of life for humans and other living species.
Seeing architecture as a tool for solving various problems in human life and its environment granted Kalbod projects many international architectural awards and prizes; Kalbod Design Studio has been announced the 2023 Emerging Architect Firm of the Year by the Middle East Architect Leader awards and some of its later projects like Sandstorm Absorbent Skyscraper, Zephyr House, Dubai Art Museum and, Digging for Light, have won many international prizes, including WAF2023 in Future Housing category and CTBUH Tall Building of 2023.
