China Is Building 1,000-Bed Hospital In 6 Days To Fight Coronavirus In Wuhan

When the coronavirus pandemic hit Wuhan in December 2019, Chinese government's actions against the pandemic have been followed from all over the world. 

Building a 1,000-bed hospital in only six days was one of most interesting stories of the 2020 and the construction of the hospital was even live streamed to see how the hospital is built from day to day.

China also built a second hospital, named Leishenshan Hospital, the construction of the second hospital was completed in 15 days.

Casa Container Marília Built A Self-Sustained Container House Raised On Metal Pillars In Brazil

Casa Container Marília - Arquitetura has designed a container house that is raised on metal pillars in Brazil, the house, named Hanging House, was built from recycled maritime containers and 80 per cent of the materials are entirely recycled for this house. 

Surrounded by native trees, the house proposes an ideal living with its compact, light construction system, the house addresses to the city's local ecosystem, with sustainability and recyclability.

BIG, Hijjas, Ramboll Unveil Masterplan For BiodiverCity Including Three Diverse Islands In Malaysia

BIG's new masterplan in collaboration with Hijjas, Ramboll has been listed in one of WAC's most read architecture stories in 2020. 

The new masterplan, named BiodiverCity Penang, covering a total of 4,500-acre area, will support the Penang2030 vision "with a clear focus on livability, on stimulating a socially and economically inclusive development, and on environmental sustainability for future generations."

Set to be built as an international competition project organized by the Penang State Government, the masterplan will contain three diverse islands, with public beaches, 600 acres of parks and a 25km waterfront on off the shore of Penang Island with a new mobility network.

Designer Astin John Unveils The Design For The Maharashtra Hyperloop Terminal

WAC's India Reporter Aarushi Mathur's story explores a new design of hyperloop terminal in India, the terminal set as public infrastructure will be built along Mumbai-Pune expressway and it will reduce their 150 kilometer journey to a time span of 30 minutes. 

Designed by Astin John, the designs scheme is inspired by "the aerodynamic free flow of air, the hyperloop terminal is a fulcrum of transportation, linking a massive vehicular diversity in Mumbai." 

The design of the terminal is developed by using parametric modeling that creates a responsive building facade, which will reposed "to climatic conditions via sensors and an actuator."

Arak's Martyrs Square

WAC's Iran Reporter Hanieh Lotfipour's article covers the design of the Arak's Martyrs Square in Iran. Proposed by Hajizadeh & Associates, the design is aimed to be the "square as the city", the square is designed with an amphitheater-looking space with several urban stairs.

While the one point of the square is elevated with a mountainous monument, the other point crushes the square in with water, purity and a symbolic tree.
