Russell Dandeniya
Russell Dandeniya is a practicing Architect at his intentionally small, experimental, and studio-based office, believing in a mode of practice that cleverly fuses the Client’s pragmatic requirements with the Architect’s inner belief, Russell searches for an architecture that is minimal in resource use, sustainable in environmental response, and conscientious in dealing with the local climate, people and place.
He is an Award winning Architect; among the awards he has won for his work are ‘The Best Personalized House of the Year’- 2008, ‘The Young Architect of the Year’ – 2009 & Merit Award 2018 under category of office buildings all were awarded by the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (SLIA). ‘Best CSR Project Award-2018, and ‘Best Sustainability Project Award-2018’ both by Japan Sri Lanka Technical & Cultural Association-JASTECA, and AIA Honor Award for open international Architecture 2019, AIA Sustainability Future Award 2019 (Jury Special Award) for the Best Office Building both by American Institute of Architects and Luxury Lifestyle Awards 2021- New York for Best Luxury Architecture. Asia Pacific Property Awards 2022-2023 for Best Office Architecture Sri Lanka.
