Architecture degree from the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona (ETSAB), Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).
Award to the best graduation project from the Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya (COAC,
Architects’ Institute of Catalonia), the ETSAB and the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura del Vallès (ETSAV).

Professional activity:
Jordi Farrando was a member of the Urban Projects team of Barcelona City Council as of its foundation, where he was in charge of coordinating, designing and supervising projects for public space in the city. The work carried out by this team has been widely publicized
internationally and has received various awards, including the Harvard University Prince of
Wales Award.
Corporate activity:
He contributes to the international activities of several professional bodies, including
the Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya (COAC, Architects’ Institute of Catalonia), where he was a Board member and Head of International Relations, and the International Union of
Architects (UIA), where he has been Director of the Commission of Congresses and
Assemblies, member of the Professional Practice Commission, Deputy Council member
and Secretary General.
Academic activity and lectures:
Jordi Farrando has taught Public space, Urban design and Landscape at the ETSAB, both on undergraduate study courses and master’s degree programmes.
He has also contributed to the success of several workshops in Belgium and Latvia, and
lectured intensively around the world (UK, Italy, France, Hungary, Romania, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Finland, Turkey, Poland, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, China, Japan,...)
Activity as a jury member:
Jordi Farrando has been a jury member for several international competitions. Some examples are the Artists’ Competition for the Axe historique de Paris à l’ouest de la Grande Arche in Paris, France; the Port District of Izmir, in Turkey; the Marble Architectural Awards in Carrara, Italy; Freedom Park in Pretoria, South Africa; the Grand Prix de l’Urbanisme français in Paris, France; and the Xiqu Centre for West Kowloon Cultural District in Hong Kong, SAR China.
He is also a member of the Nominations Committee for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture.
