DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
Creating spaces is a dynamic confluence of resources, need and intent. A solution that resonates with the context elevates itself into a meaningful level. GPPL believes that each project is unique, and the design needs to evolve through a process that imbibes the obvious along with the characteristics of each project. Without the burdens of presumptions and assumptions we let the solution unfold as a unique response to the context. We just orchestrate the forces of confluence to evolve into a symphony. Our practice has developed around constant themes of applied research and exploration in the tradition of tropical modernism, essentially finding solutions appropriate to our tropical location and appropriate for our time; such as dissolving boundaries between outdoors-indoors; creating an integrated approach that includes landscaping, architecture and interiors; creating casual environments that exude sensual elegance and appeal to the all the senses and exploring the possibilities of spatial perception in our changing tropical environment.
GPPL’s strategy is to contemplate on the pulse of the site to gauge the contours of the spatial forces, explore and research the multi-dimensional aspects of the site and program. By resolving the dynamic requirements of site, socio cultural and environmental contexts, technologies, financial aspects, regulations, functionality and aesthetics, a cohesive conceptual equation is arrived at. This equation informs the design at all levels and scales, creating an architectural language unique for the project.
