Design as Catalyst for Change: Learning from the Bronx

New York Botanical Garden and various locations

2014 ushers in New York City’s first new administration in twelve years, and with it, the promise of new priorities and change. Landscape design, planning, and architecture projects signal the importance of design as a key factor in New York’s evolving social and economic development.

The Bronx has emerged as an exciting testing ground for this new growth and change. The morning session will be held at the New York Botanical Garden, and afternoon tours will offer an inside look at five innovative Bronx projects using the built environment to promote greater social justice.
