Join MIT Professor John Ochsendorf for an illustrated talk about the singular and revolutionary contribution of the Guastavino Fireproof Construction Company to New York City’s architectural landscape between the 1880s and the 1930s, from Carnegie Hall to the Registry Room at Ellis Island. 

Recipient of a MacArthur “genius grant,” Ochsensdorf is the author of Guastavino Vaulting: The Art of Structural Tile (Princeton Architectural Press, 2010).
