The Midnight Charette, a weekly podcast featuring New York architectural designers Bruce Mar and Emma Pascal who share their stories and thoughts about design, people and more, has released its new podcast with American architect, urban theorist, educator and writer Michael Sorkin. In the 52nd episode, the interview opens an in-depth discussion on urbanism, teaching design, gentrification, "smart" cities, the development and preservation of New York City and city transportation. 

Michael Sorkin is the founder of Michael Sorkin Studio and Terreform - The Center for Advanced Urban Research. Sorkin is currently working as the Director of the Masters of Urban Design Program at the City University of New York. He has authored numerous books such as "20 Minutes in Manhattan", and his latest book, "What Goes Up - The Right and Wrongs to the City" published by Verso Books.

Michael Sorkin Studio and Terreform recently opened a new exhibition titled "Metrophysics" in the Atrium Gallery at the Bernard and Anna Spitzer School of Architecture, which will be on view until May 4, 2018. In addition, the Urban Research (UR), the imprint of Terreform, released its new book titled "Downward Spiral: El Helicoide's Descent from Mall to Prison".
