This year Building For Humanity (B4H) International Design Competition aims to address the notion of having architecture as a social and cultural facility, by seeking design ideas that would contribute towards the social inclusion and integration of Syrian war refugees in the Turkish border city of Reyhanlı.

Within the competition framework, Yaşar University, Faculty of Architecture will host a series of events - titled Architecture for People - including an exhibition, a series of panels, workshops and a colloquium which will be held at Yaşar University, Faculty of Architecture and İzmir Architecture Center between 18-22 November 2019. 

Among the panelists, Professor Juhani Pallasmaa, who was prominent in the theory of architectural phenomenology with his book Tenin Gözleri, and the Founding President of the World Architecture Community Prof. Suha Ozkan, as well as Ying-Chun Hsieh and Sheng-Yuan Huang. 

Pallasmaa, Hsieh and Huang will hold a workshop at the Faculty of Architecture at Yaşar University. Chun-Yu Chiu from Turkey, Nuno Martins from Portugal and Taiwan's Wang Chun-Hsiung are the directors of the competition. 

The workshop, titled Thought and Form, Drawing and Writing Architecture, will be held by Juhani Pallasmaa and Suha Ozkan on November 22, 2019 at 10:30, at Yaşar University.

Suha Ozkan and Ying-Chun Hsieh, are the jury members of the competition, will be giving a lecture at the İzmir Architecture Center on November 18, 2019 at 18:00 pm. 

Ozkan's lecture is titled "Innovation in Architecture", while Hsieh's talk is titled "Collaborative Construction Industry to 4.0".
