FLUX presents FLUX Emerging Architects Design Competition
United States Architecture News - Nov 04, 2015 - 09:53 4789 views
California- initiative Flux, is your focal point for data exchange and collaboration. You can invite teammates and partners into your project to share data. Each user and application controls when to synchronize data with the project, allowing users to work in isolation until they are ready to share their changes with the team. Flux frees you from the burden of exchanging and converting data so you can focus on what’s most important to you: design- and introduces new competition and asks How will the architecture, engineering, construction industry (AEC) meet the world’s demand for affordable and sustainable buildings in an urbanizing world?
For the first time ever, Flux is calling on the next generation of building designers to enter our student architecture competition, running from November 2015 to January 2016. We believe that technology is the answer, and we are optimistic about its ability to improve the quality of buildings, strengthen communities, and minimize impacts on the environment. Based out of San Francisco, Flux develops cloud-based collaboration tools that exchange data between your existing design environments, allowing for automated and parametric workflows that extend across platforms. By spreading design knowledge and improving the accessibility of design tools, we can help the AEC industry design buildings smarter, faster, and more sustainably.
In this competition, we want to see how you will use Flux in your current school projects to exchange data between Grasshopper, Dynamo, and Excel via the web. Each registered team will submit a short (~2 minute) video explaining your innovative approach to using our tools, along with relevant design files. Submissions will be judged based on creativity, simplicity, and transferability; prizes will be awarded for a variety of submission categories as detailed in the brief.
Registration is now open! Follow the link to register.
