2014 Thesis Weekend & Graduation

SCI-Arc Summer 2014 Lectures

SCI-Arc is pleased to announce its annual Graduate Thesis Weekend & Graduation Ceremony, taking place September 5-7, 2014 on the SCI-Arc campus in downtown Los Angeles.

A culmination of up to three years of study and coursework leading toward the Master of Architecture and M.Des.R post-graduate degrees, this public three-day event has students presenting their final projects to critics from all over the world and culminates with an all-school commencement ceremony for both undergrads and grads. In addition to attending presentations and reviews, participants and guests can also tour the school and its facilities.

On Sunday, September 7, starting 5pm, students, their families and guests are invited to participate in the all-school graduation ceremony, where degrees are conferred to graduating students in the B.Arch, M.Arch and M.Des.R. post-professional programs. A reception will follow the ceremony, which will be held in the graduation pavilion designed and built by SCI-Arc faculty Marcelo Spina and Georgina Huljich of P-A-T-T-E-R-N-S, with the help of a transformative grant from ArtPlace.

For those attending the event, on-site parking is available at 350 Merrick Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013. Students, family members and friends unable to attend the ceremony can watch it broadcast live at www.sciarc.edu/live.

Graduate thesis projects will remain on view throughout the school until September 12. In addition, a special Selected Thesis Exhibition showcasing outstanding projects selected by guest critics will be on view in the SCI-Arc Gallery between September 16-24.
