About European Youth Parliament
The European Youth Parliament (EYP) was founded in 1987 in Fontainebleau (France). For 25 years, the association has worked to increase the awareness of young people of their possibilities to exercise their citizenship on a European dimension. It has grown internationally and is now supported by the institutions of the European Union and the Council of Europe. Nowadays, the European Youth Parliament benefits from a strong network of national organisations in over 36 European countries, in and beyond the current borders of the European Union.

Since its creation, the European Youth Parliament has aimed to involve young people, from 16 to 25 years of age, in the construction of Europe and European public debate during events without partisan political connotations. It holds parliamentary sessions, based on European Parliament meetings, at regional, national and European scale. These give young people a unique opportunity to share with their European neighbors in a spirit of tolerance and exchange, while getting involved in the democratic process.
