Chaolee Kuo has been appointed as Taiwan's Country Reporter, as part of the WAC's Country Editors/Reporters program. Chaolee Kuo is an architectural critic, historian, and the founder of AAM (Taiwan Alliance for Architectural Modernity).
He graduated from Chung-Yuan University Taiwan and continued his graduate study in abroad, including M.Arch.II (post-professional degree) at Yale University U.S. and Ph,D. at Katholieke Universiteit Te Leuven in Belgium. After many years in teaching and practicing he has been the chairman of the Department of Architecture at Chung Yuan University, and the head of Graduate Institute of Urban Planning at National Taipei University, he retired in 2014.
Kuo was the founding editor-in-chief of Dialogue Magazine and editors of some major architectural magazines in Taiwan.
He publishes over hundred articles in journals, eighteen book chapters and eight authored books. His main research specialism include: modernity, colonialism, modernism and modern architecture, typo-morphology and critical theory.
