DesignDC, the annual three-day regional conference that focuses on the unique challenges posed by working in the D.C. Metro area for architects, interior designers, engineers, contractors, planners, landscape architects, will be held on September 16-18, 2019 at Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.

The theme for this year's event is Charged Up! and is inspired by A Historic Bill that recently got passed in D.C., mandating 100 Percent Renewable Power By 2032. 

DC is the leader in energy conservation and architects are leading the charge. The conference is currently seeking energized, innovative speakers for tours and classroom presentations. 

Proposals are due by Friday, February 8th, at 5:00pm.

Special consideration will be given to the following topics:

• Changes in building codes, legislation, and zoning
• Net-zero design
• Case studies
• Retrofitting
• Sustainable materials
• Designing for municipal buildings
• Alternative commuting
• Firm management
• Interactive workshops

Day 1 and Day 2 of the conference will include educational sessions and trade show exhibits at the Ronald Reagan Building,  Day 3 is full of opportunities to tour projects across DC, MD, and VA. Classroom presentations are one-and-a-half hours in length, while tours are two hours in length. All speakers will receive complimentary conference registration.
