WAC announces Jona Osmani as Country Reporter for Albania

Jona Osmani - Albania

Since November 3, 2017

Jona Osmani has been appointed as Albania's Country Reporter, as part of the WAC's Country Editors/Reporters program. Jona has a special focus on detailed reporting of any event, as well as detailed writing of the new projects and commissions in Albania. Jona's writing style is very clean, compact, well-arranged and follows a simplistic language. She knows well what and how to report since she was accepted to the program. More specifically, she likes to write about exhibitions, new projects and local or small-scaled conferences. Jona's most popular article Tirana's Nuit Blanche: Institutions Open Doors To Public For The 105th Anniversary Of Independence has reached over 2,059 views at the time of this article.

"I applied to be a Reporter on WAC because I felt the need to tell the world about what is happening in the architectural sphere in Albania. It was also a means to practice my writing and improve those skills. It is a very important position to be able to represent what is happening in my country in a very international environment like WAC," Jona told World Architecture Community.

She is a graduate of Epoka University in Tirana, where she successfully completed the integrated second cycle study program in Architecture with high honors. She finalized her Master thesis on a Joint-lab Erasmus+ program between Epoka University and Polytechnic University of Bari, on the topic of tactical urbanism and revitalization of cities through public spaces. In 2016, Osmani was an intern for Unlab + Stefano Boeri Architetti + IND for the drafting of the General Local Plan of Tirana. She worked as an architect for Commonsense Studio in Tirana until early 2017. Osmani is a Board Member of Albanian Chapter of INTBAU (The International Network for Traditional Building, Architecture & Urbanism) since 2016.

"I believe I have improved and also developed myself in the way I choose what content/event to write about. The suggestions, critiques, and comments of the editor have also helped a lot. In addition, I find it very efficient to submit my articles in the flexible framework of WAC. I believe that I can take more responsibilities after some more experience and a few more articles and writings."

"I think that the reporter position is already very appealing to many young architects and students. I believe that a recruitment campaign would be of interest. There could also be Prizes/Awards and rewards for the Reporter of the week/month."

"I share all my articles with my friends and environment. I personally find more interesting the news of the small countries (like Albania) in Asia, Europe, South America."

You can follow Jona on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Instagram.

If you also want to be part of our volunteer reporters and become "the voice of your country on WAC while being the face of WAC in your country," please send your motivation message and your CV to [email protected]. We also accept more than one reporter by country.
