SISI states Damietta furniture city (DFC) is an integrated city to develop furniture industry

Egypt’s president Abdel-Fattah El Sisi has released an order explicating that raw resources and up-to-date industrial gears are to be assigned for Damietta Furniture City (DFC) in order for the city can perform as an integrated and furniture manufacture specialized center.  

Earlier in November, in an assembly with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and the presidential aid for national and strategic projects Sherif Ismail, El-Sisi further elucidated that support should be directed towards the DFC to satisfy the domestic market needs and to facilitate the potential for exporting to African and Arab countries.

Presidency spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement subsequent to the meeting. The president accentuated the significance of enhancing the investment scenarios in the DFC to offer direct and indirect job openings.

Attendees of the meeting included Local Development Minister Mahmoud Shaarawy, Trade and Industry Minister Nevine Gamea, and Damietta Governor Manal Wad, among others.

The Egyptian president inaugurated the industrial city in December 2019 which is constructed on 331 Feddans and seeks to act as a catalyst for small and medium-sized enterprises.
