Construction of new dormitories for Mae Tao Clinic CDC students made homeless by fire.
Agora is a small non-profit group of architects based in Mae Sot.The campaigne focus on designing low cost buildings within the migrant community on the border between Thailand and Myanmar. In early 2012 we designed and constructed five student dormitories to house Burmese students at the Mae Tao Clinic training campus. Sadly on the 25th of February 2015 a fire from a neighbouring famers land spiralled out of control and destroyed all five buildings.
Fortunately of the 63 students living at the dormitories, no one was seriously hurt and only two boys suffered minor injuries, which were quickly treated at the Mae Tao Clinic. However the students now have nowhere to live and many of them lost all of their belongings......Continue Reading
