Gehry’s Revised Eisenhower Memorial Is Approved

After two years of repeated setbacks, Frank Gehry’s revised design for the Eisenhower Memorial on the Washington Mall was approved by the United States Commission of Fine Arts on Thursday, making way for the project to break ground in 2015, the Eisenhower Memorial Commission said.
The Memorial Commission appeared before the Fine Arts Commission to seek “revised concept approval” for Mr. Gehry’s most recent changes.
“Capturing the life and legacy of one of the greatest figures of the 20th century, has been a unique honor,” Mr. Gehry said in a statement. “I appreciate the approval.”....Continue Reading
