Brazil Sérgio Magalhaes Remains IAB President

The architect Sérgio Magalhães was reelected on the morning of Friday, August 29, president of the Institute of Architects of Brazil (IAB). Only candidate for the post, Magellan received 51 votes, the 56 valid. The election took place at the 146th meeting of the Supreme Council of the IAB (Cosu), which is held at the Convention Center Ulysses Guimarães in Brasilia.

After the count, the reelected president reaffirmed his commitment to the preservation of a management focused on strengthening the IAB, which is moving with freedom and autonomy for its centenary. "We will work towards the appreciation of architecture and architectural culture in the country, for the improvement and qualification of the Brazilian built space and the democratization of the city," he said.
