redefining housing/ glowing cores: Avoiding anonymous lobbies, staircases are woven with rich history. Local materials, and memories of residents past and present, create a sense of security and encourage lingering.
Lyndon Goode, working directly with OQ, will be presenting a series of workshops in Hebron, Nablus and Ramallah, focusing on affordable housing design and innovative construction techniques with an emphasis on green technologies. The workshops are an effort to assist the OQ and the United Nations Development Programme mission to support the Palestinian people on economic development, rule of law, and improved movement and access, as they build the institutions and economy of a viable and peaceful state in Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. The Office of Quartet will be promoting affordable housing as an enabler of economic development for the OPT.
individual living: Spaces as unique as the people living in them. Rooms with nooks and crannies, shaped to indulge in sunlight. Above regulation sound proofing to carve quiet in the city.
The Mayor of London on a three day trade mission to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Ramallah will tell business leaders, key investors and senior politicians that London’s incredible depth of skills, vibrant communities and worldwide links should make it their first choice of economic partner.
The Mayor said: “We’re heading to a region with enormous potential for stronger links with London. This visit will be a fantastic opportunity to explore the possibilities of building the long term relationships and partnerships that will create opportunities for our businesses to prosper.”
Après-commute terrace: Enlarged balconies, designed for suppers with friends and soaking up the sun, not just for hanging out the washing. Outdoor rooms, to be used throughout the year - rain or shine.

Simon Goode said: “The Quartet challenged us to consider how housing could be delivered more affordably in this fascinating region, resulting in a variety of flexible and innovative designs that build upon our experience in the UK. As a practice, we enjoy seeing projects from concept through to completion, and have developed a rare ability to look at projects strategically as well as at a detailed scale. The collaboration with the Quartet has been hugely successful and will hopefully result in some exceptional built designs over the coming year.”
