''Ultramoderne'' wins The Lakefront Kiosk Competition, Chicago Horizon skyline

The Lakefront Kiosk Competition arranged by the Chicago Architecture Biennial which will be held between 3 October 2015-3 January 2016. The competitionorganized in partnership with the Chicago Park District and the City of Chicago, The Lakefront Kiosk Competition calls for the inventive design of a new kiosk that will be installed on Chicago’s lakefront. The competition winner receives the BP Prize, which includes a $10,000 honorarium and a $75,000 budget to realize the design. The winners of competition revealed yesterday, including 4 finalists, 3 honorable mentions and other submissions.
The jury of the competition included very prominent names David Adjaye, Adjaye Associates, Jeanne Gang, Studio Gang Architects, Joseph Grima, Chicago Architecture Biennial, Sarah Herda, Chicago Architecture Biennial, Sharon Johnston, Johnston Marklee and Associates, Michael J. O’Brien, BP, Rob Rejman, Chicago Park District. The winning proposal and the three commissioned kiosks will be displayed in Millennium Park during the Chicago Architecture Biennial (October 2015 – January 2016). In the spring of 2016, all four kiosks will be installed on the lakefront.
