Fabio Barilari (Roma 1967), graduates with honours and publication of the thesis, in Architecture at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, with a thesis in Project Design on the Harbour of Ancona (Italy).
He starts his professional experience in 1987 at the Studio of Eng. Riccardo Morandi (one of the leading international figures for modern engineering).
Following his degree, he collaborated as free-lance with several prestigious professionals, among these in particular: Arch. Massimiliano Fuksas Associati, with whom he participated in the International Competition for the new Congress Center of Rome “La Nuvola” (1° Prize); Arch. Manfredi Nicoletti (project of new Hall of Justice of Arezzo); Arch. Livio Sacchi and with the studio Capolei-Cavalli Architetti Associati, as project leader.
Fabio Barilari specialised in the design of complex architectural and urban organisms such as harbours, congress centres, halls of justice, sport centres, large department stores, residential blocks.
Parallel to these collaborations, in 1996 he founded with Alessio Barilari the studio RUN/dom_ where until 2008, he developed numerous projects on all scales of intervention, from interior design to harbour plans, obtaining various prizes and publications, as well as participating in several exhibitions.

Since 2008, Fabio Barilari develops his professional activity, extending his research, beyond architecture, to sectors related to graphics, illustration and painting.
In 2008 he held a personal exhibition of his paintings, “Free Style” at the St. Stephen’s American Cultural Centre Foundation, with a display of 98 works, completed between 2000 and 2008.
Between 1995 and 2009 Fabio Barilari gave lectures and collaborated in several courses of Architectural Design in various Universities, among which in particular, La Sapienza and Cornell University in Rome.
