Legenda is a residential complex in Almaty designed by Basire Design for Bazis-A. Located on Abaya Avenue, the 57,843 m² project brings together a group of high-rise residential buildings within a unified architectural composition.
The design is based on a common visual language, while each building retains its own character through variations in colour, façade rhythm and detailing. Warm natural tones — brick red, sandy beige and deep green — give the complex a recognizable identity and help differentiate individual volumes within the larger composition.
The façades combine ceramic brick, metal panels and glass. Vertical green lamellae emphasize the structure of the elevations and introduce a strong sense of rhythm, while panoramic glazing brings daylight deep into the apartments and reinforces the vertical proportions of the buildings.
A key part of the project is the organization of the ground-level environment. The inner courtyards are designed as car-free landscaped spaces with pedestrian routes, planting, communal areas and children’s playgrounds. Rather than treating the landscape as a secondary element, the project integrates it into the everyday residential experience.
A central pedestrian boulevard connects the different parts of the complex and creates a more intimate scale between the high-rise buildings. It acts as a shared public space for movement, informal meetings and recreation, while helping structure the relationship between architecture and landscape.
Architectural lighting adds another layer to the composition after dark, emphasizing façade depth, vertical elements and material textures without dominating the overall character of the buildings.
Through the combination of differentiated residential volumes, a consistent façade language and carefully organized public spaces, Legenda creates a contemporary residential environment shaped by rhythm, materiality and pedestrian-scale urban life.
