Valga following quote as a sign of the objectives that have moved over a lifetime as a fighter for the 'homeless':
''At what point do we can speak of home? Home is where a plastic under which a family lives is lived. The architects used to describe a building and that has distorted what is a home. What you need to do is take that place that gives meaning to a family and trying to see how to improve them. We start from the human fact, the group. To this it is to which we must support in order to reach a better housing. (...) A I'm not interested households. I'm interested in people. Once, in Burundi, support each adobe houses. We came to visit and was a woman outside with a baby. He said: "This boy was born last night." And what happens to me."Were you born last night in this house that just finished?". A week before he was born under a palm tree. But now had a roof. That satisfaction does not get doing a skyscraper.''
Joan MacDonald, EL PAIS (May 2011)
