The NXT CITY PRIZE is all about vision – the vision to reimagine Toronto’s public spaces and to inject asense of energy, dynamism and reflexivity. How do our public spaces respond to the speed of today’s world, for the generation of tomorrow?
This is your time to be heard. NXT City Prize is looking for ideas from new and young voices to show the city how public space can better meet the need of our connected and social generation. It’s an open invitation for young people to improve open space for all.
The Competition
It’s Our Time To Reimagine Toronto
If you’re under 30, show us your big idea to improve a public space in Toronto and you could take home a $5,000 cash prize. Not only that, the City is ready to listen. You’ll also be given up to an additional $10,000* to work with a team of leading experts and turn your vision into reality. Competition opens April 30 2014. All entries must be submitted by July 31 2014 at 11:59pm.
*Cost of implementation will be provided up to a maximum amount of $10,000. Must be accepted as awarded. No cash substitutions. Subject to terms and conditions.
Submission Guidelines
A clearly represented vision for future of one or more City-owned public space including visuals and a brief (250 word) written rationale or explanation.
Up to two (2) panels sized 36” by 48” including all necessary visual information to clearly express the vision.
An optional accessory video up to three (3) minutes in length may be submitted in addition to the panel(s). Videos can be uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo with a web ad- dress link provided.
