Consortium appointed for NEO Brussels

In collaboration with KCAP we designed the masterplan and consulted the city of Brussels during the tender phase.

This week the City Council of Brussels publicly announced the award of the contract for the first part of the new urban quarter of the city to be built on the Heysel Plateau.

After a public procurement process, the delivery of 590 places of residence, a shopping centre and a leisure complex has been awarded to the Unibail-Rodamco, CFE and Besix consortium over two other competitors.
The masterplan for NEO Brussels is designed by Arup and KCAP in collaboration with Fakton. Arup and KCAP supported the City of Brussels during the tender phase.

"Congratulations to the City of Brussels on the award of this contract and an important step in the delivery of the NEO masterplan. We look forward to the next phases of delivery and to a continued close working collaboration with the public authorities on the masterplan."

– Laurens Tait, Project Leader, Arup

Construction is expected to commence in 2017.

Additional information about the first part of the project can be found on the project website of Europea.
