Mobile Culture Studies is an international network and a forum for online-publications.
«Mobility» is a term nowadays used for almost everything that moves and changes, from motility to finding directions. «Mobilities» is a field of interest and practise in technical sciences and in social sciences. It is still less present in cultural studies.
Mobile Culture Studies aims at developing mobility issues in cultural studies. It want achieve this in contact with other fields of sciences and arts, introducing and using transdisciplinary methods. Thereby it wants to be itself the mobile principle of scientific, artistic and lifeworld participation. It strives for the humanistic ambition to accompany and counsel individuals, topics and ideas relating to matters of scientific interest, in their motilities, interests, and movements. It supports the democratic view of making our everyday world visible in its relevance thereby pointing to the importance of a political practise that respects the lifeworlds.
