Mexican architecture studio Pérez Palacios Arquitectos Asociados (PPAA) has completed a sleek residence with earthy lines and pastel tones in Valle de Bravo, Mexico.
Named Copas House, the 964-square-metre building is situated in Valle de Bravo, was inspired by a respect and awareness for the local environment.
The main goal was to create an open upper floor that has a direct connection to the treetops around it, according to PPAA. These are the elements that give the project its essence and create the different moods and views throughout the house.
The house absorbs the slope and requires little excavation to fit into the site's natural topography. The public areas were raised one level above the ground by the architects, who also added a number of platforms where people could experience nature in different ways.
However, the bedrooms are located on the first floor, which ensures the seclusion and quietness these spaces require. This house's design is similar to scaling a mountain. Ascending, you come across the magnificent vistas.
