Africa Innovation Network publishes the second edition of AFRICAN CITIES Magazine

Like last year, AIN published a new issue of its magazine dedicated to African cities on World Cities Day. After a very successful first edition, which rediscovered the best of Africa in terms of innovative solutions for resilient and sustainable development, this new edition addresses some of the major issues underlying the development of African cities.

African cities magazine, Architecture, urban planning and design education in Africa

The first part devotes a special dossier to architectural and urban planning education in Africa and addresses the major issues of the continent's urban future. Public spaces, urban resilience and the smart city are just some of the concepts visited. In addition, through a series of special interviews, some of the continent's leading architects and urban planners present their visions of the African cities of tomorrow.

One section is dedicated to a presentation of inspiring projects in architecture and urban planning. The projects chosen are those that promote better social inclusion, the integration of local communities and local economic development. Finally, this second edition of the magazine shows the place of religious cultures in architecture in Africa and highlights inspiring urban art projects.

It is AIN's deepest wish that this initiative will give people a better perspective of African cities and inspire them to contribute more to the creation of more inclusive, resilient and sustainable cities in Africa.
