1. What is the deadline?
The deadline is at 23:59 GMT on Thursday, March 10.
2. Who can apply to WA Awards 10+5+X?
Architects, Architecture Offices, Interior Designers, Interior Design Offices, Architecture and Interior Design Students are eligible to apply to WA Awards 10+5+X.
3. Do I need to create an account to submit an entry?
Yes. You need to create an account on this page with your name and surname by selecting a correct status that represents you (such as Architect, Interior Designer, Student). If you want to send your project under your company, you should upgrade your account to Professional Membership in which this membership applies an annual fee (see the WAC Membership Benefits). After upgrade is complete, you can send your work under your company.
Students need to validate their account as Academic Member with their student email (provided by their university) on their WAC Settings before submitting their projects.
4. Can I submit my entry in different language?
No. Project uploads, account descriptions, project submissions should be entered in English. If the WAC editorial team detects any project uploaded in different language, the project will be removed from the competition and there will be no refund.
5. What are the categories in the WA Awards 10+5+X?
Projects can be sent under 2 major sections in the WA Awards: Architecture and Interior Design. For Architecture, you can submit in Designed, Realised and Student categories.
In Interior Design, you can submit in Realised and Student categories. Please visit this page to see category details.
6. What type of materials will I need to submit during upload?
After signing in and entering My Projects page, click on Upload Project, and you will see only one-page upload form you need to fill in correctly for each project. The form includes project name, project section, project type, designed-completed year and project description that should be written with minimum 1500 characters.
Another sections include project facts (technical data), project team, country, city, project category and project images you need to upload (jpg, jpeg, and/or png).
7. Is there a limit for visuals to upload?
Yes. Associate Members may upload up to 10 images, while Professional and Academic Members may upload up to 20 images per project. If the project is a built project, only photographs are allowed to upload. If the project is a conceptual project, you should upload only renderings.
8. Can I upload drawings?
Yes, image uploads can include drawings, illustrations, etc.
9. What if I am having trouble with uploading my visuals?
You should check the image size and specifications for WA Awards. Please read all detailed image sizes and other specifications in the upload form under the "Project Images" section. Or, to see details, consult our visual guidance on How To Participate (Point 7) page.
10. What are submission fees per categories in the WA Awards 10+5+X?
The WA Awards follows an affordable pricy policy for entry fees to increase participation from all architecture and interior design offices.
The WA Awards 10+5+X participation fees are: Designed category: $100, Realised category: $200, Students: free. Find out more about WA Awards 10+5+X fees.
11. How will I pay for my entry?
World Architecture Community accepts payments via secured credit card (Visa, MasterCard, AliPay) in the last step of your submission. Read more about payments on this page.
Or, you pay via a bank transfer before sending your entry, however, as the WAC awaits your payment until arrive to its account, that can take a longer time to process on your entry. Please note that there will be bank charges for international transfers that you will have to cover in full. Please see details on this page.
12. When will the Voting process be announced in the WA Awards?
The shortlist of that Cycle is opened for Voting process in a week when the deadline has ended.
13. Who are the jury in the WA Awards?
There are 2 types of judgement processes in the WA Awards. WAC's Honorary Members, who are an exclusive group of invited architects, acclaimed critics, academics and theoreticians, editors of architectural magazines and Previous Winners of WA Awards in earlier Cycle, and the Members of World Architecture Community.
Nikos Fintikakis, co-founder of SYNTHESIS AND RESEARCH, acclaimed Indonesian architect Budi Sukada, who is senior lecturer at the University of Tarumanagara, artist and teacher Ruth Jacobson, Alhadeff Architects founder Giancarlo Alhadeff, Sanjay Puri, the founder of Sanjay Puri Architects, are among the WAC's Honorary Members.
WAC's Members are composed of architects, interior designers, students and academics.
14. What is the prize in the WA Awards?
Winners of WA Awards will receive a digital, special WA Award Winner Poster and a digital WA Award Certificate that will be made available to the participants in a few weeks after the announcement of the winners.
15. Will I pay for my Winner Poster and Winner Certificate after I win?
No. You only need to pay for per entry/per category fee in the WA Awards. Apart from it, you won't pay for your Winner Poster and Winner Certificate.
