MAA Founder Melike Altınışık to give lecture at Bodrum Architecture Library on March 14

Update: This event has been suspended due to Covid-19 until further notice. Architect and founder of Melike Altınışık Architects – MAA Melike Altınışık will give a lecture on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at the Bodrum Architecture Library in Bodrum, a port city in Muğla Province, Turkey

The architect is behind the projects the iconic Çamlıca TV And Radio Tower, which nears completion in Istanbul, and the world’s first pioneer Robot Science Museum in Seoul.

The Bodrum Architecture Library includes over 10,000 books and 20,000 documents in the fields of architecture, history, art, urbanism, archeology, engineering - founded by WAC's Founder and President Prof. Suha Ozkan, Hon F AIA. The library also hosts a series of events, workshops and lectures directed by Suha Ozkan.

Altınışık's lecture is titled "Architecture and The 21st Century Maestros" and starts at 19:00 at the library.

Introduction of the lecture:

"As the technology of time changed, the maestro of time also changed. The new was always apprehended like this. While robotic technology is used as a tool for the future in architecture and design, it is obvious that a pre-coded plan or program a robot can learn from another machine will not be sufficient in development. The real progress can be achieved when "maestro" comes into play and works on how to use these robotic technologies for a purpose that has not been tried and implemented before.

Altınışık, who studied the philosophy of architecture, nature and technology in his projects and put them into practice, will present the future of architecture and importance of the concept of “maestro” in architecture.
