Rashi Jain is a young architect, presently working as an Architectural Journalist and PR at Creative Group, New Delhi, India. She completed her Bachelor’s from the School of Architecture and Landscape Design, SMVDU, Jammu and Kashmir in 2018. She has learnings from one of the finest researchers and academician, Ar. Yatin Pandya (Footprints E.A.R.T.H, Ahmedabad) during her internship there, the word "sustainable" has subsequently driven her to work and think on Indian traditional models and passive architecture, increasingly relevant in today’s urban context.
Born and brought up in Bhopal, which lies at the heart of India, and whose history and skyline is dominated by the Begum’s and Queens that ruled the state, Rashi’s grounding and her need to relevance has a dialogue with the city which can be seen in her works and writings.
Presently, she is also engaged as an expert with India Lost and Found, which is a shared effort to preserve and remember the essence of our civilizational history in which using her expertise both as a young architect and a concerned Indian to create cultural context and engage in thoughtful discussions around the lesser known heritage of India.
Lastly she believes that in shaping our habitats, we must be aware of how significantly they shape us. Intellectual honestly involves a dialogue with ourselves, in so far that what we project and practice is both factual and rational. It is this level of introspection that will strengthen our commitment to true value for all.
