Gallery Maison Mais Non opens its inaugural exhibition, The Extraordinary Process from 15 September to 16 November 2016. The Extraordinary Process highlights Zaha Hadid Design’s position as a collaborative workshop, exposing the creative process of a variety of makers including Peter Do, Phoebe English, Iris van Herpen, Stephen Jones, Krystyna Kozhoma, Nasir Mazhar, Minimaforms, Patrik Schumacher and XO.

Evolving from discussions between Maison Mais Non, Zaha Hadid and Patrik Schumacher last year, fashion designers and architects will examine innovative technologies of the present to imagine how these will evolve and shape the world of the future.

''In terms of form, all our projects – architecture, fashion and furniture - interest me equally; and all of the designs originate from similar principles. All the projects are connected somehow,'' said Zaha Hadid.

The Design Research Lab at the Architectural Association, founded by Patrik Schumacher and currently under the direction of Theodore Spyropoulos, will engage designers to push far beyond the current constraints of science and technology today to imagine the world of tomorrow. The conversations around these future worlds will be illustrated with models produced by the DRL, alongside garments, toiles, swatches, sketches, videos and correspondence that detail the collaborative process. The synthesis of these discussions will be suggested through beautifully rendered installations by each designer.

Envisaged through conversations between Hans Ulrich Obrist and exhibition curator Lou Stoppard, with exhibition design by William Pelham, The Extraordinary Process will consider the potential of fashion and architecture to enhance the human condition, and the ways these industries may conceptually redefine themselves in the future. 

The Extraordinary Process will be on view between September 16 - November 16, 2016 at Gallery Maison Mais Non and gallery opening and private view will be held on September 15.
