Costa Rican architect Bruno Stagno was awarded the Premio América, for his exemplary architectural career. This prize is awarded as part of the SAL - Seminarios de Arquitectura Latinoamericana (Latin American Architecture Seminars). Bruno Stagno is one of the strongest advocates for green architecture in Latin America. He founded and directs the Institute for Tropical Architecture in San Jose, which notably authored the standards for green architecture in tropical climates: Reset. The UIA has been a supporter of the Institute's activities and diffuses the 'Reset' standards in three languages: English, French and Spanish.
