AUA Cogress And General Assembly In Kampala

The African Union of Architects (AUA) is the heartbeat of the architectural community across Africa. It’s an expression of our culture, innovation, and commitment to collaboration. The AUA Congress 2015 brings together hundred of architects and students of architecture from all over the continent to focus on a topic of current concern to the profession. This year's theme is: Our Architecture, Our Communities, Our Heritage.

The Uganda Society of Architects is proud to host the 11th Africa Union of Architects Congress and General Assembly. Uganda as you may know was fondly nicknamed the ‘Pearl of Africa’ by Sir Winston Churchill. Years have gone by since the visit by the former British Prime Minister, but Uganda has not lost her sparkle. She is still a country with fantastic natural scenery, inhabited by the most welcoming people from a rich mosaic of tribes and cultures. Positioned on the Equator, Uganda probably has the best weather of all African countries, never too hot or cold. Travelling through Uganda, you will be captivated by its beauty, overwhelmed by the friendliness of its people and intrigued by the number of things she has to offer.

The Congress will take place from 2nd to 8th August 2015 at the Speke Resort Munyonyo located on the shores of Lake Victoria, Africa’s biggest fresh water body. The resort, which recently hosted the Common Wealth Heads of Government Summit, is only 12km away from the vibrant Kampala CBD and boasts of some of the most technologically advanced conference facilities in the region.
