Arnoud Gelauff
Floor Arons {1968} and Arnoud Gelauff {1963} work on diverse projects throughout the Netherlands from a converted marine engineering factory in Amsterdam North, with a staff of more than 25 people. Winning the Europan competition in Amsterdam Osdorp in 1996 was the go-ahead for founding the firm. This project was delivered in 2002, and since then ten others have followed.
The firm of arons and gelauff architects is founded on a sober design philosophy. The initial designs are pragmatic and neutral in their formulation. The volume construction, the facades and the sections become extremely specific in the designs, allowing them to graft onto their surroundings in this way. The buildings obtain a strong character of their own, due to an alternation of neutrality and complexity.
arons and gelauff architects believe they are able to produce the very best buildings by being involved in all phases of the process. This process is expertly supervised from the first sketch up to and including delivery.
