David Adjaye named as Jury Chair for 2018 RIBA Stirling Prize

The world-renowned architect Sir David Adjaye, founder of Adjaye Associates, has been named as the Jury Chair for the 2018 RIBA Stirling Prize, the prestigious annual award for the UK’s best new building.
The world-renowned architect Sir David Adjaye OBE will chair the jury comprising RIBA President, Ben Derbyshire; 2017 RIBA Stirling Prize winner, Alex de Rijke; former Artistic Director of the Southbank Centre and Woman of the World (WOW) Festival founder, Jude Kelly CBE; Almacantar Property Director, Kathrin Hersel. Architect Simon Sturgis has been appointed sustainability advisor to the panel.
"This year’s shortlist demonstrates sensitive and engaged thinking across a wide range of projects – from cemeteries to nurseries and from galleries to workspaces," said David Adjaye.
"It is a privilege to judge for Britain’s highest prize for excellence in architecture and to celebrate the outstanding work of my peers."
The 2018 RIBA Stirling Prize shortlist includes Foster + Partners' Bloomberg HQ in London, Waugh Thistleton Architects' Bushey Cemetery in Hertfordshire, Henley Halebrown's Chadwick Hall at the University of Roehampton, Jamie Fobert Architects and Evans & Shalev's New Tate St Ives in Cornwall, MUMA's Storey's Field Centre and Eddington Nursery in Cambridge and Niall McLaughlin Architects' Sultan Nazrin Shah Centre in Oxford.
The winner of the 2018 RIBA Stirling Prize will be announced on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the Roundhouse in London.
