Call For Submissions To A Concept of A Tourism Cluster International Competition in Russia

A new international competition has been opened to develop a concept of the Oymyakon tourism cluster in the Village of Oymyakon, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Russia.
Oymyakon is famous as one of the Poles of Cold and is on the list of inhabited places with the most extreme conditions for human life. The notorious cold of Yakutia attracts tourists from all over the planet, including world celebrities. Oymyakon has already seen visits from Hollywood actors Tom Hardy and Ewan McGregor.
The Competition will bring together Russian and international experts in the fields of architecture, design, and development of tourism clusters, in order to uncover the potential of Oymyakon as a world center for extreme tourism. The results of the competition will be presented at the Fifth Eastern Economic Forum, which will be held on September 4–6, 2019.
The competition is taking place with the support of the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)(Russia).The initiators of the competition are the LETO Competence Center for Issues of the Urban Environment of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the non-profit Special Purpose Fund of Future Generations, with the Agency for Strategic Development CENTER serving as strategic partner and consultant.
Objective
Development of a concept of the Oymyakon tourism cluster via an Open International Competition.
Format
Open, two-stage.
Russian companies can take part in the nationwide competition with international participation.
Competition documentation is available in Russian and English.
Participants
Professional organizations in the sphere of architecture, design, and elaboration of concepts for the development of public spaces and tourism clusters, carrying out activity in Russia.
Finalists
According to results of the selection stage, three (3) finalists will be selected on the basis of a relevant portfolio and essays, and will be engaged in the development of proposals.
Prize fund
The total prize fund is 2,200,000 rubles.
Each finalist will be paid a reward for the concept development in totaling 400,000 rubles, including all applicable taxes and fees.
The finalist taking third place will receive 200,000 rubles, including all applicable taxes and fees.
The finalist taking second place will receive 300,000 rubles, including all applicable taxes and fees.
The winner will receive up to 500,000 rubles, including all applicable taxes and fees.

28 May - Introductory webinar for participants of the contest;
14 June - Application submissions close;
24 June - Jury meeting;
9 July - Webinar for finalists of the contest;
19 July - Concept submissions close;
29 August - Final Jury meeting. Press conference.
