GREEN AERO HUB

A BIOPHILIC APPROACH...

INTRODUCTION:
Airports serve as vital hubs connecting people and goods globally. They act as gateways between air and land transport, facilitating the movement of passengers, cargo, and aircraft. Airport terminals play a crucial role as interfaces between land transport and the necessary infrastructure for passenger access to airplanes. The proposed Dholera International Airport ( Live proposal) covers an area of 3525 Acres (1426.523 ha) which is barren Government land. No forest land or private land is involved in the proposed airport site.

AIM & OBJECTIVE:
To design an airport that meets both passenger satisfaction and national requirements, while incorporating
biophilic elements to enhance the user environment.
---To establish design principles that address safety, efficiency, and passenger experience.
---To balance aesthetic considerations with functional requirements.
---To optimize the layout for efficient passenger flow and minimize congestion.

THRUST:
Biophilic design can lessen stress, enhance creativity and cognitive function, enhance wellbeing, and hasten the healing process. By utilizing space and location conditions, direct and indirect nature, and occupant connectivity to the natural world, the building industry is utilizing the notion of biophilic design. In this airport proposal, I have included the 14 biophilic design motifs. This lowers tension while also improving the mood. To put it another way, it is crucial in structures like airports, which manage a great deal of disorder, house the majority of the public, and witness a significant volume of traffic. I have included natural elements such as animals, water, greenery, and features that resemble nature. The aim is to create a natural atmosphere without sacrificing airport needs or services.

CONCEPT:
Bio morphism in biophilic design uses nature-inspired shapes to create environments that connect people with nature, enhancing well-being and reducing stress. These organic forms are aesthetically pleasing and promote mental health by reducing stress and improving mood. Incorporating biomorph elements can also stimulate creativity and boost productivity. Overall, biomorph design fosters a sustainable and harmonious connection between built environments and the natural world.

This project inspired by the shape of an octopus would feature a central processing area representing the body, with piers extending from it like tentacles. This design mimics the octopus’s form, with the central hub facilitating core operations and the extending piers providing access and functionality, possibly for transportation, docking, or additional processing activities. This approach combines biomorph design principles with practical architectural elements.
