In today's rapidly changing world, the value of human connection and our relationship with nature is more evident than ever. This design concept is centered around creating centralized and inward-facing spaces to encourage communal living. My vision is to provide a safer and more enriching retirement environment for the elderly, where they can not only meet their basic needs but also build strong social connections and foster a sense of belonging.
This architectural project is situated on a beautifully located plot of land surrounded by a river. Designed to be a retirement and wellness retreat for the elderly, the project features a central landscape axis that connects the public and private areas. This axis serves as the heart of the project, encompassing various activities such as socializing, recreation, and therapy.
The design incorporates numerous inviting open spaces interspersed with greenery and communal areas, helping to alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation often experienced by the elderly.
The residential block draw inspiration from traditional architecture, featuring front and back gardens, verandas, and pitched roofs, providing a familiar and comforting environment for the residents.
The project layout is designed to be easily accessible, with clear and distinct divisions, allowing the elderly to navigate and use the facilities with ease. "Dong Nai Nursing and healthcare center for the elderly" is not only a retirement and wellness center but also a bridge connecting the elderly with one another, with nature, and with their families.
