Project Description:
“Second life “is creative and social upcycling enterprise in 10th of Ramadan City- Sharqiyah - Egypt, in order to develop a workforce strategy, raise awareness about around effective best practices for plastic reuse and repurposing knowledge, which can extract the amount of carbon dioxide that is improperly released from plastic that coincides with climate change. The center aims to transform used plastics, waste or products that are useless into new products with new value. The project is expected to increase commercial activity in the city in industrial field.
Importance of the project:
Providing an equipped environment for all users in a way that enhances technical education in the industrial city for any volunteer or interested in up-cycling to use all types of plastic waste in converting it into products of greater value and preserving the environment. In addition, making profit with the aim of creating new job opportunities for these workers and raising their level. Finally, Benefit from everyone’s experience depending on their educational and awareness of reuse.
Design concept:
Concept is to reuse materials in the interior spaces of the building as a form of convincing users and emphasizing the building's functionality.
Elements:
Elements are inspired by the shapes of gears, which are the emblem that distinguishes the city are which the design based on.
Color Scheme:
The color scheme chosen was the monochrome of one hue in each zone, and each color refer to an exact meaning and used for exact reason.

The Reason for choosing the location: It is one of the cities that is crowded with plastic waste due to industrial activities, so it needs a rapid solution for it, as its climate and environment are beginning to be affected.
The construction of the building is skeleton with Sustainable Structure & Materials Concrete / Glass / Greenery to Ensuring sustainability through durability.
Sustainability aspects used in the project:
• The building includes sustainable system, elements, components (Indoor Landscape openings, and courtyard)
• Reusing all possible materials in interiors of the building in a way to convince users how necessarily is that (Recycled plastic, Remaining metal containers- …. etc.)
• All materials used are eco-friendly (Natural wood, Nontoxic painting, Pompom Charcoal wood, …… etc.)
• All furniture and equipment are easy to use to be suitable for all users with their different levels of awareness which insure social sustainability.
• Zones include advanced technology that enhances interaction such as interactive walls.
