EXCELLENCE IN ARCHITECTURE

Mr Hameed Haroon is the Chief Executive of Dawn Group of Newspaper, the largest selling English Daily in Pakistan. A Harvard graduate and a man of taste and culture. Mr. Haroon’s Library had to encompass his dreams, interest in art-deco style, indigenous art and architecture and a huge collection of art pieces, books and architectural wood works.
This design had to confront one of the most challenging set of requirements. Historic setting – both at the interior and exterior scale, placement and fixing of the choicest of antiques and art pieces, in utterly finite space demanding very little compromise on functionality were some of the key aspects to be effectively dealt. Interior design, which also enveloped the exterior facade can be termed as a model of art-deco. Intricately crafted details in wood and other local materials have almost reincarnated what was otherwise a rundown space. Every inch of space is given the maximum of utility and is amade a part of the design. Focused illumination, corresponding colour scheme and matching floor has made it an unforgettable spatial experience.
