Seh Sar Villa Complex

Design Intention – Villa Complex in Sehsar, Rasht

The design intention for this villa complex in Sehsar, Rasht is shaped by the منطقه’s humid climate, rich vegetation, and the spatial qualities of northern Iranian settlements. The project aims to create a contemporary residential environment that remains deeply connected to nature while responding intelligently to climatic challenges.

The core concept is based on continuity of landscape and fragmentation of built form. Instead of creating a dense and compact mass, the villas are distributed across the site as smaller volumes, allowing the natural green fabric to penetrate the پروژه. This approach preserves the existing ecological character and enhances visual and environmental quality.

Drawing inspiration from the vernacular architecture of Gilan, the design incorporates elevated structures, sloped roofs, and generous roof overhangs. These elements protect the buildings from heavy rainfall and humidity while forming semi-open spaces such as verandas that act as intermediate zones between interior and exterior.

Climatic strategies are central to the design process. Cross ventilation is achieved through carefully positioned openings, and the orientation of units is optimized to capture prevailing breezes while minimizing direct solar exposure. The use of shading devices, permeable surfaces, and vegetation contributes to creating comfortable microclimates throughout the complex.

Material selection is based on durability and compatibility with the humid environment. The use of wood, local brick, and lightweight construction systems ensures breathability and long-term performance, while also reinforcing the connection to local architectural identity.

The spatial organization balances individuality and collectivity. Each villa is designed with private outdoor spaces and controlled دید, while shared green areas, pedestrian paths, and communal nodes foster a sense of community among residents.

Ultimately, the project aspires to create a sustainable, climate-responsive, and context-driven villa complex that reflects the essence of Sehsar and offers a modern interpretation of life in the northern regions of Iran.
