The design intention for the Bungalow at Satyagrah Chavani was to craft a contemporary family home that expresses luxury through restraint, clarity, and spatial richness rather than excess. Rooted in the principles of minimalism, the project seeks to balance openness with privacy while fostering meaningful connections between family members, light, and nature.

Given the site’s narrow frontage, elongated depth, and closely built surroundings, the planning strategy focuses on drawing natural light deep into the interiors and creating layered spatial experiences. Gardens, open-to-sky pockets, and visual corridors are carefully integrated to ensure the home feels expansive, airy, and inwardly focused despite its urban context.

Architecturally, the house is conceived as a composition of staggered, intersecting volumes. Cantilevered forms, textured surfaces, and controlled solid–void relationships create depth and rhythm while maintaining a calm and refined visual identity. Materials such as corten steel, stone, fluted cement sheets, wood, and MCM textures were intentionally chosen for their tactile quality, durability, and timeless appeal.

Internally, the emphasis is on continuity and connection. Double-height spaces, long sightlines, and seamless flooring unify the interiors, while screens, level variations, and material transitions subtly define privacy. The family sitting area is designed as the emotional core of the home—an open, light-filled volume that visually connects multiple levels and encourages daily interaction.

A strong indoor–outdoor relationship was central to the design approach. Gardens, balconies, and terrace spaces function as natural extensions of the interiors, enhanced by architectural screens that filter light, frame views, and create a dynamic play of shadows. Overall, the intent was to create a timeless, functional, and emotionally resonant home that quietly celebrates minimal luxury and family living.
